Wokingham is an historic market town in Berkshire, 39 miles West of London, 7 miles South-East of Reading, 8 miles North of Camberley and 4 miles  West of Bracknell. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 30,690.

Wokingham is popular amongst families due to the high standard of the local schooling, with nine outstanding primary and secondary schools nearby, rated by Ofsted. The council provide a number of leisure facilities such as the: Carnival Pool, St. Crispin’s Sports Centre and the Pinewood Leisure Centre. Another amentiies include: a varirty of local shops and restaurants, a library, two local football teams and a cricket club.

The General Market trades every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8am to 5pm.  It has a mixture of stalls  including:  plants, cut flowers, fruit & veg, bread and cakes, sweets, meat and eggs, pet food and bird seed, jewellery, CDs/DVDs and more. The Farmers’ Market is held on the first Thursday of each month from 9am to 2pm. Wokingham Music, Food & Drink Festival is held every August, showcasing local musicians, local food producers and also wines, beers, and ciders from Berkshire and surrounding breweries.

In 2010, the council set up a £100m regeneration project to redevelop the town centre with new retail, leisure and residential facilities, parking, roads and open spaces. Several major expansion projects around the town are planned over the next decade, including a major redevelopment of the town centre.

Wokingham is in close proximity  to the A329 and M4 providing easy access to London. Wokingham railway station is at the junction of the Waterloo to Reading line with the North Downs Line.  Most local bus services are provided by Courtney Buses but the services from Wokingham to Reading and Bracknell are operated by Reading Buses.
