Lightwater is a village to the north east of Camberley in north west Surrey, about 27 miles south west of Central London. It is bounded to the north west by the M3 and to the north east by the Lightwater bypass. Immediately surrounding towns include Bagshot, Deepcut, Windlesham, Camberley and Woking. To the south east, it is bounded by the “Red Road” (B311), whilst to the south west, there are vehicle-testing tracks owned by the Ministry of Defence.

The centre of the village, around Guildford Road, includes: a library, a Budgens supermarket, full medical facilities and veterinary surgery, pubs, a post office, a range of shops and a petrol station. Lightwater has its own Country Park, to the west of the village. There is a “Nature Trail”, together with a Leisure Centre and Visitors Centre where many nature events are held.
The nearest town is Camberley, which includes the shopping centre and The Atrium leisure complex.

Public transport links to London are available from nearby Bagshot or Sunningdale Stations, with a direct link to London Waterloo, reached within 45 minutes travelling time.
London Heathrow Airport is 20 miles away, reached via the M3 and M25 or the A30, whilst London Gatwick Airport is 45 miles south east, via the M3, M25 and M23. The village is a quarter mile from the M3, providing easy access to the south coast of England.
