Your essential guide to choosing the right estate agent for you

Choosing the right estate agent for you isn’t about selecting the one with the loudest voice, and the biggest marketing budget.  Your choice will have a huge impact on your experience when selling your home.  The right agent will help shoulder the stress, allowing you to focus on what matters most.

Challenge us

When recruiting, each candidate is put through an interview process to assess who is right for the position.  Your home is your biggest asset, and you are placing the incredibly important task of selling it into the hands of a stranger, so why would you not ‘interview’ estate agents?

We want to be challenged; you need to be satisfied that our expertise meets your expectations.  Rapport is the foundation of any relationship, and we aim to win your trust.  By demonstrating our track record we will show you how we succeed in demanding and difficult markets, and how we are able to adapt as situations change.

Our advantage

The one clear advantage of a high street agent like Knights Property Service is that we operate a ‘No Win, No Fee’ business model.

Basically, if we don’t sell your home we don’t get paid.

We are by your side every step of the way, working tirelessly to ensure you receive the highest possible price, that the sale process is as swift and efficient as possible, and, should there be a problem, we will liaise with all parties to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

If we take our foot off, and the sale collapses as a result, we don’t get paid.

Bear in mind…

Now, compare that to having paid an upfront fee. The agent has already been paid, so what if your house doesn’t sell, or the sale collapses during the sale process? The agent has already been paid, but you haven’t sold your home.

Do your research

Before you sign on the dotted line, do your research.  Your property needs to fit within their portfolio, but you don’t want it fading into the background.  When you’re comparing agents, ask yourself:

  • Will they be able to meet your requirements without imposing their own? Are they listening to you, and advising you on how they can achieve a sale?
  • Have they sold similar properties in your area? Don’t underestimate the importance of having a good track record in selling similar homes.
  • Has their past clients’ experience been positive? Find testimonials and ask around your community for that all important word of mouth feedback.
  • Will they be able to attract buyers? Investigate their marketing strategies – are they visible in your locality?

Frank assessment

Do you want a ‘yes’ agent who tells you what you want to hear, who over promises and under delivers, or an agent who will give you a frank assessment of your property in the current market, and who will get the job done?

With so much choice when it comes to estate agents today, you need to ensure your choice is the right one.

Let us help you, call us today to see if we are the perfect fit for you and your home.
