Windlesham

Windlesham is a village in the Surrey Heath borough and civil parish that covers Bagshot and Lightwater. It’s name derives from the Windle Brook which runs south of the village into Chobham and the common suffix ‘ham’ is the Old English word for ‘homestead’. Today Windlesham has a vibrant community.

Windlesham’s local amenities

Windlesham is home to St John the Baptist church, the Windlesham Club and Theatre and six public houses. It offers a number of schools such as: Woodcote House School, Windlesham Village Infant School, Windlesham Village Pre-school and Hatton Hill Day Nursery and Preschool.

Every year, Windlesham’s streets are shut for a Boxing Day fancy dress pram race – the charity event sees runners complete a three and a half mile course through the village stopping at local pubs for a drink along the way.

Windlesham’s transport links

Windlesham is close to Bagshot and Sunningdale train stations which provide access to Guildford and London. Windlesham provides access to the A30 and is in close proximity to the M3.
